Tage Pålsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Jiří Tichavský got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Patov's Jakub Baran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Moises Fernandino hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Generoso Papon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC Patov's Jiří Tichavský got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Kurt Janiš struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Patov. FC Patov's Tage Pålsson got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lennart Svanström kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. If Abram Luque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jakub Baran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 37th minute of play. Kurt Janiš was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. FC Patov's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Tage Pålsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Tage Pålsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tage Pålsson took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Janiš in the 59th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Kurt Janiš notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. FC Patov's Jakub Baran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save FC Patov from getting a goal against them. After 67 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Carvallo. Tage Pålsson struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Patov. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Patov's Kurt Janiš. But to his dismay, Kurt Janiš quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 77 minutes into the match, Tage Pålsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tage Pålsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 81st minute, Kurt Janiš hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tage Pålsson in the 84th minute of play. The supporters of El Salvador booed when FC Patov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Květoslav Zukal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute, Generoso Papon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tage Pålsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. FC Patov made a substitution.
