The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 50th minute, Eustaquio Fertus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 57 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 64th minute of play forced Jagiellonia Bialystok's goalkeeper Michael Iurisch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Jagiellonia Bialystok's goalkeeper Michael Iurisch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 95 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
