When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Musko in the 56th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Saul Erauso threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alexis Roussounelos hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Atlético Unión Florida were victorious despite being under pressure from Mexico for much of the match.
