Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Henk Van Linthout was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrik Fagrell having to interfere. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomas Sundberg made a kick off. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Sundberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Adam Christoffersson kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 56 minutes, Dong Ting Fan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BK Ugglan and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, BK Ugglan's Dong Ting Fan got a free kick in the 57th minute. After some careless play in the BK Ugglan defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrik Fagrell. The BK Ugglan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrik Fagrell should have stopped the shot. BK Ugglan's Patrik Fagrell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save BK Ugglan from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk Van Linthout in the 71st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrik Fagrell having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiktor Anselius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 80th minute, but Patrik Fagrell got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving BK Ugglan hanging dry this time. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
