Helge Kullander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Sven-Arne Tunström didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-1 via right post in the game's 13th minute. Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's Charles Emander quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joshua Secada, made in the 28th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Arne Tunström in the 32nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Sven-Arne Tunström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Arne Tunström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Arne Tunström got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickard Göransson in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Sven-Arne Tunström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's Sven-Arne Tunström got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the game, Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's Sven-Arne Tunström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sören Fredriksson in the 66th minute of the match. Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's Daniel Ahlin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Sven-Arne Tunström put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Sven-Arne Tunström might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sven-Arne Tunström ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's Sven-Arne Tunström. But to his dismay, Sven-Arne Tunström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Sören Fredriksson kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 81 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball.
