The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. JEC - FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Liu Xiang Zhen in the 6th minute. The corner led JEC - FC's Liu Xiang Zhen to fire away a dangerous shot which Fabrício Falcão despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Julio Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JEC - FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. JEC - FC's Carlos Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save JEC - FC from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute of the match JEC - FC got a corner. Jurupeba FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Liu Xiang Zhen ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Liu Xiang Zhen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Jurupeba FC's Fabrício Falcão did a great save. In the 14th minute, Pero Šiljak left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The JEC - FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Jurupeba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Baptista came free, but Fabrício Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. JEC - FC were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Jurupeba FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Liu Xiang Zhen took the corner. In the 23rd minute Julio Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabrício Falcão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. JEC - FC's Carlos Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save JEC - FC from getting a goal against them. Beto Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Ramos having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, JEC - FC's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Minchev came free, but Carlos Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. JEC - FC's Carlos Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save JEC - FC from getting a goal against them. Carlos Ramos made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Beto Breckenfeld sent off a good shot on target. After the first half JEC - FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
