After 7 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. Flavius Costache kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Mugur Tăbăcaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. When Ion Pârâianu fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pardina's protests and gave Ion Pârâianu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Pardina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ion Pârâianu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dan Mihele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Ferrant made in the 28th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Pardina's Ilie Stătescu. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Mihele in the 28th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Pardina's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Mugur Tăbăcaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Pardina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Mihuț to maneuver through the defense. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dan Mihele was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 80 minutes into the game, Pardina's Dan Mihele nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After a rather tough play, Pardina's Petrică Scutaru got a free kick in the 84th minute. Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Hugo Ferrant off the ground.
