Paulo Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Jos Maseland succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 8th playminute. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Jos Maseland put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jacobo Nores. Jos Maseland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. Antony Warnier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd match minute, AJAX AMSTERDAM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Blank to maneuver through the defense. AJAX AMSTERDAM made a substitution. Mirko Houwing replaced Gerry Cartwright. In the 23rd minute, Michael Blank hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antony Warnier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, Paraguay's Jacobo Nores got control of the ball when Roelof Kroon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jacobo Nores made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jos Maseland in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jos Maseland got free with Jacobo Nores in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Pardo in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antony Warnier saved AJAX AMSTERDAM from getting behind. 39 minutes into the match, Roelof Kroon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roelof Kroon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Jos Maseland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jos Maseland made a kick off. In the 57th minute Jos Maseland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos Maseland in the 58th minute of play. AJAX AMSTERDAM's Antony Warnier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 61st minute of play. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roelof Kroon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roelof Kroon, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Richard Hagenouw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roelof Kroon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jos Maseland went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Roelof Kroon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Roelof Kroon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Pardo during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jaime Pardo hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jos Maseland, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. AJAX AMSTERDAM were victorious despite being under pressure from Paraguay for much of the match.
