In the 30th minute of the match, Paulo Godoi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedro Manzanares was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Boyisana Mnisi got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The audience held their breath when Axel Montenegro in the 34th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Allan Varela's left hand side. If Kevin Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 43rd play minutes Axel Montenegro shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Allan Varela and just under the crossbar into goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abram Sarmiento to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 74th minute, Vitório Lago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacio Mastache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitório Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vitório Lago went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. 83 minutes into the game, Luis Cazalla threw the ball into play from the sideline. Palestra do Interior's Celsinho Vidal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A sloppy throw-in by Luis Cazalla in the 86th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Palestra do Interior's Celsinho Vidal. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Luis Cazalla hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Vitório Lago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. In the 91st minute, Vitório Lago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Palestra do Interior fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Palestra do Interior's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
