Mehmet Akif Ersoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of the match. After 37 minutes ZigZag Athletic's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Mehmet Akif Ersoy despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Felix Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ZigZag Athletic's Bengt-Rune Öman shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 46th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dante Lacasa but with some difficulty. In the 47th minute, Marcus Isaksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodrigo Nestor to make the kick off. In the 55th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Luque to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Tafalla's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mehmet Akif Ersoy firmly grabbed it by the left post. ZigZag Athletic made a substitution. Per-Olof Brolin replaced Kjell Boberg. In the 59th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. ZigZag Athletic's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mehmet Akif Ersoy made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. If Rodrigo Nestor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 65th minute of play forced ZigZag Athletic's goalkeeper Mehmet Akif Ersoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th play minute Joel Gaona came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mehmet Akif Ersoy. 2-1. Tiago Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicki Nick in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. Rodrigo Nestor kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After 86 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Mancebo. In the 88th minute, Lautaro Mancebo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Nestor in the 91st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehmet Akif Ersoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ZigZag Athletic's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lautaro Mancebo 96 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2.
