Wilton Vale succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 8th playminute. With an all-out effort, TAQUARI FC's Ricardo Zorita threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilton Vale, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rodolfo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute, Wilton Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Wilton Vale kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ricardo Zorita. That made the score 4-0 in the 28 minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Vale came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Vale in the 33rd minute of play. Marco Tamayo's late challenge caught a TAQUARI FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Tamayo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of TAQUARI FC booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Tamayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wilton Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Vale in the 37th minute of the match. TAQUARI FC's Ernani Souto got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 42 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilton Vale made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Wilton Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. TAQUARI FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilton Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the game, Moises Fernandino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TAQUARI FC the free kick. Moises Fernandino kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Wilton Vale took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 59th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentino Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale. But to his dismay, Wilton Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Ernani Souto might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernani Souto ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Wilton Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute, Wilton Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Wilton Vale scored 9-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the game, TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilton Vale in the 95th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
