Erik Skog didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 7th minute, Ulf Wennerquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viktor Albäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato de Salles got free with Rolando Noboa in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erik Skog showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of the match. Emmanuel Reyes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rähim Sterling. Michael Kvalfält blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. 45 minutes into the match, Garphyttan's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Erik Skog reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Erik Skog in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Anthony Alvarado hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Garphyttan's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Skog came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael Kvalfält during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Garphyttan's Michael Kvalfält got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Murillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute of the game Ulf Wennerquist made a throw-in which Jörn Petersson played forward. Garphyttan made a substitution. Jim Kellman replaced Michael Kvalfält. Ulf Wennerquist made in the 72nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jörn Petersson. Erik Skog stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luz Tejedor's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Luz Tejedor might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Skog. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luz Tejedor ran back to his position shaking his head. Garphyttan's Albin Bergström was substituted for Donato de Salles. Jim Kellman charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jim Kellman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 84 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik Skog narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erik Skog showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 86th minute of the match. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Erik Skog didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 93rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Garphyttan.
