Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mänsur Rzayev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 12th minute of the match. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mänsur Rzayev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mänsur Rzayev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Élie Gaudron got free with Dante Lacasa in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes Şamaxı Bankirlər got a freekick which was hit by Cezary Pierz. In the 37th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mänsur Rzayev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Şamaxı Bankirlər was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Badr to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Şamaxı Bankirlər booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Rulli made a kick off. Mänsur Rzayev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Élie Gaudron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Rulli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mänsur Rzayev having to interfere. Şamaxı Bankirlər's Mänsur Rzayev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 63rd minute of play. Macos Graciani got a throw-in 64 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alberto Tafalla. Alberto Tafalla was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 65th minute. Mexico's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mänsur Rzayev. After 97 minutes of play, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Alfredo Rulli made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Şamaxı Bankirlər throughout the match.
