After a rather tough play, Peru's Efraim Gilabert got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute of the match Xu Sha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rolando Noboa skillfully saved the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Cristiano Aveiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
