Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kazimierz Birkenhagen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Kazimierz Birkenhagen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 43rd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. NDVX's Kazimierz Birkenhagen was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 47th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

In the 58th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Du made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 69th minute of play. Du made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute of the match, Felix Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Du was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Bento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Du breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 87 played minutes NDVX got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Bento. In the 88th match minute, NDVX was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arkadiusz Wogensen to maneuver through the defense. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute NDVX were awarded a corner. Dominik Pietrasz went to the cornerflag to take it. Dominik Pietrasz made a great header on NDVX's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save.
