In the 11th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Gil Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gil Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gil Coelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 33rd minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Gil Coelho. Barcellos Mineiro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After 36 played minutes Barcellos Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Montenegro. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Mariano Lacasa sped through Barcellos Mineiro FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gil Coelho. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Alan Tamayo put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chile fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! Thiago Pliego had in the 46thth minute some difficulties stopping Tadeu Guerra's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The Barcellos Mineiro FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chile were winning 0-5.

55 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Queirós came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Gil Coelho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting a goal against them. Gil Coelho was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Guillermo Fontirroig capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
