The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iulian Pietreanu took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hannes Dresdner. Hannes Dresdner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Black Dragons's Waud Soetemans in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie prevented a goal. Black Dragons's Hannes Dresdner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Arósio in the 15th minute of play. Hannes Dresdner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orçun Yalınalp went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bodo Rodel in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baldomiro Txindoki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iulian Pietreanu in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hannes Dresdner saved Black Dragons from getting behind. Hannes Dresdner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Arósio in the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Black Dragons's goal looked a bit too open when Orçun Yalınalp came free, but Hannes Dresdner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orçun Yalınalp took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hannes Dresdner. Hannes Dresdner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orçun Yalınalp in the 35th minute of play forced Black Dragons's goalkeeper Hannes Dresdner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Black Dragons defense, Wilson Arósio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hannes Dresdner. The Black Dragons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hannes Dresdner should have stopped the shot. After 41 played minutes Black Dragons got a freekick which was hit by Cyrill Graf. Baldomiro Txindoki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waud Soetemans in the 44th minute of the match. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iulian Pietreanu to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia booed when Black Dragons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyrill Graf didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Wilson Arósio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Black Dragons's Hannes Dresdner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iulian Pietreanu in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Black Dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephane Pfiffer to maneuver through the defense. 63 minutes into the match, Black Dragons's goalkeeper Hannes Dresdner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orçun Yalınalp. I Putu í Lon Jacobsen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baldomiro Txindoki having to make a save. Black Dragons made a substitution. Sander Buckinx replaced Rico Roy. 72 minutes into the game, Orçun Yalınalp recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hannes Dresdner. Orçun Yalınalp showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orçun Yalınalp in the 75th minute of play forced Black Dragons's goalkeeper Hannes Dresdner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 minutes of play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Iulian Pietreanu made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hannes Dresdner was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wilson Arósio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Hannes Dresdner made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Raffaelo Anderegg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Baldomiro Txindoki quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Black Dragons's zone, Wilson Arósio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hannes Dresdner came out of the goal and Wilson Arósio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baldomiro Txindoki stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of I Putu í Lon Jacobsen's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. The Black Dragons supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's performance. The match ended with a win for FC UNIREA Alba Iulia.
