The referee showed Fabrício Tasso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd minute, one of Vasco Mineiro FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vasco Mineiro FC. Pedro Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. BRASIL.Sp's attentive Pedro Varela managed to snatch the ball when Edu Cunha made a throw-in in the 35th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Durval Meireles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
