The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Periklis Vasilarakos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caio Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, BRASIL.Sp's Lon Lanteigne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Vidal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lon Lanteigne came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcelo Vidal could save by the left post. Durval Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Marcelo Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vinícius Esteves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Oswaldo das Neves in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by BRASIL.Sp's Mame Picka. In the 34th match minute, BRASIL.Sp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durval Meireles to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Vidal made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Lon Lanteigne sent off a good shot on target. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vasco Mineiro FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mame Picka was slow to take the kick. During this time BRASIL.Sp's players had a chance to rest. BRASIL.Sp's Lon Lanteigne was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcelo Vidal in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 40th minute Durval Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute of the match Waldir Vargas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Vidal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Durval Meireles to make the kick off. Periklis Vasilarakos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Durval Meireles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BRASIL.Sp fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. A collision led to BRASIL.Sp getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Lon Lanteigne hit a great ball. Periklis Vasilarakos might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Caio Penha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Periklis Vasilarakos ran back to his position shaking his head. When Periklis Vasilarakos fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco Mineiro FC's protests and gave Periklis Vasilarakos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th minute, André Luiz Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. BRASIL.Sp's Caio Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save BRASIL.Sp from getting a goal against them. BRASIL.Sp made a substitution. Hélder Munhoz replaced Kauã Campidelis. After 74 played minutes Vasco Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Edu Cunha. Marcelo Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durval Meireles in the 76th minute of the match. Durval Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Marcelo Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Caio Penha successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Vasco Mineiro FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by André Luiz Pernambucano in the 85th minute. Vasco Mineiro FC's André Luiz Pernambucano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Caio Penha in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of BRASIL.Sp booed when Vasco Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the BRASIL.Sp defense, Vinícius Esteves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caio Penha. The BRASIL.Sp fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caio Penha should have stopped the shot.
