Vinícius Esteves started the match with the kick off. Marcelo Vidal came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Barrenta SC's Angelo Cabral. But to his dismay, Angelo Cabral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 8thth minute of the game Luiz Fábio Lima who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vasco Mineiro FC's Marcelo Vidal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fábio Lima in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Vidal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 15 played minutes Vasco Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Vinícius Esteves. Víktor Donato hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After 24 minutes, Adriano Fontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barrenta SC and the Vasco Mineiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute, Adriano Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angelo Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vinícius Esteves in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vasco Mineiro FC's Marcelo Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fábio Lima in the 32nd minute of play. If Angelo Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flávio Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When Vasco Mineiro FC's Frederico Lago in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barrenta SC's goalie prevented a goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Nestor Carioca came out of the goal and Frederico Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Angelo Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Vasco Mineiro FC's Bernardinho Maia got a free kick in the 64th minute. With a little luck, Vasco Mineiro FC's Marcelo Vidal got control of the ball when Luiz Fábio Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nestor Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Luiz Fábio Lima who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Marcelo Vidal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Vasco Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Lima came free, but Marcelo Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Vinícius Esteves made a precise shot to the right of Nestor Carioca. Barrenta SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Luiz Fábio Lima in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcelo Vidal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 81st minute, Periklis Vasilarakos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vasco Mineiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. A collision led to Barrenta SC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Víktor Donato hit a great ball. Vinícius Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Carioca having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Lima in the 94th minute of play forced Vasco Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Barrenta SC defense, Frederico Lago kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Carioca. The Barrenta SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Carioca should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vasco Mineiro FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Barrenta SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
