Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Flying Dutch from getting a goal against them. Anderson Pombal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luís Paulo Romero came out and tried to block the shot, but Anderson Pombal slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 10th minute. In the 14th minute SC Bertioga were awarded a corner. Serafim Queiroz went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on SC Bertioga's corner Gildo de Lima fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luís Paulo Romero quite easily take care of the ball. Anderson Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gildo de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Luís Paulo Romero made a huge save. In the 20th match minute, Flying Dutch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shen Fan Shu to maneuver through the defense. Luís Paulo Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Troiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30thth minute of the game Flavio Troiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st match minute, SC Bertioga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Troiano to maneuver through the defense. Bruninho Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cido de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. With a little luck, Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero got control of the ball when Gildo de Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute Serafim Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SC Bertioga booed when Flying Dutch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on SC Bertioga's corner Alf Elg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luís Paulo Romero quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Niceto Xacintu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flying Dutch's supporters rose to their feet, but Niceto Xacintu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruninho Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niceto Xacintu to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Niceto Xacintu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruninho Vaz was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Niceto Xacintu put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bruninho Vaz.
