In the 18th match minute, Flying Dutch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Flying Dutch's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Elg came free, but Luís Paulo Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruninho Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido de Medeiros in the 25th minute of the match. Alexsandro Tróia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Bruninho Vaz made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in SC Bertioga's zone, Niceto Xacintu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruninho Vaz came out of the goal and Niceto Xacintu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Paulo Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Elg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Flavio Troiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Bertioga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. SC Bertioga's Bruninho Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Xacintu in the 45th minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Bertioga defense, Niceto Xacintu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruninho Vaz. The SC Bertioga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruninho Vaz should have stopped the shot. In the 48th match minute, SC Bertioga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Troiano to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Flying Dutch's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gildo de Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The coaching staff of SC Bertioga protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cristian Drăgănoiu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Bertioga fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! Bruninho Vaz had in the 84thth minute some difficulties stopping Thiago de Mendonça's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
