Renan Madureira was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. In the 18th match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Hortêncio Mandrak might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sérgio de Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hortêncio Mandrak ran back to his position shaking his head. BMB IMOVEIS SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Delfim Chaves ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led EDI MZB's Ma Lang Liang to a score. 0-4 in the 34th minute. If Teofil Pisarcik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goalkeeper Osvaldo Neto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Luiz Vides. Sérgio de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47thth minute of the game Dennis Roelfs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BMB IMOVEIS SC's Sérgio de Azevedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half EDI MZB were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hortêncio Mandrak who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Sérgio de Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With his leg Sérgio de Azevedo managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when EDI MZB's Hortêncio Mandrak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. EDI MZB's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
