With an all-out effort, Flying Dutch's Allan Varela threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Higinio Raymundo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luís Paulo Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Godoi in the 19th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Paulo Godoi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Paulo Romero was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Paulo Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Paulo Romero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Eugênio Alagoano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luís Paulo Romero quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 34 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Paulo Romero was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luís Paulo Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival Cruz in the 39th minute of the match. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Flying Dutch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Xacintu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Niceto Xacintu to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Paulo Godoi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luís Paulo Romero. Paulo Godoi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Percival Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Romero having to interfere. Percival Cruz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Palestra do Interior's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 59th minute Herbert Pankowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Herbert Pankowski put it in 0-8 from a short distance just to the right of Luís Paulo Romero. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Godoi in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Paulo Romero saved Flying Dutch from getting behind. In the 71st minute Paulo Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Xacintu in the 72nd minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Percival Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Erruki Sotes replaced Ernani Velasco. In the 81st minute, Vitório Lago made a precise shot to the right of Luís Paulo Romero. Flying Dutch's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. In the 84th minute Percival Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitório Lago blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Paulo Romero having to make a save. With a little luck, Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero got control of the ball when Vitório Lago tried to sneak it across the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Shen Fan Shu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flying Dutch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick.
