An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Godoi in the 22nd minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper José Pedro Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Pedro Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Godoi in the 24th minute of the match. Palestra do Interior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorginho Mazza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago was substituted for Paulo Godoi. Palestra do Interior's Erruki Sotes was substituted for Ernani Velasco. After 81 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago made it 1-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Pedro Abraão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-9. After having played for 92 minutes, Niclas Danielsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niclas Danielsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitório Lago in the 96th minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper José Pedro Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Morro Grande E.C fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palestra do Interior were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
