The Three Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flying Dutch's goalkeeper Arthur Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Adolfo Cruz's late challenge caught a Three Lions FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 69th match minute, Three Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Kane to maneuver through the defense. Niceto Xacintu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. George Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Raymundo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arthur Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of George Messi's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, Three Lions FC's George Mbappè got a free kick in the 79th minute. George Messi struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Arthur Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Three Lions FC. Flying Dutch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Three Lions FC the free kick. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Three Lions FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
