Marquês de Herval's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Fellipe Lago scored to the left of an out of position Dida Taffarel, making the score, 2-0. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. Patric Isaksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 31st minute of the match. 37 minutes into the game, Agustín Tastzian lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Dida Taffarel. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urban Stenman got free with Dida Taffarel in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urban Stenman in the 43rd minute. Patric Isaksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute Agustín Tastzian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
