A collision led to Marcos AFC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Sixten Ståhlberg hit a great ball. Camilo Freixa made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Marcos Soin sent off a good shot on target. After 43 minutes Bolivia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gilbert Dejo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gilbert Dejo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Camilo Freixa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mario Fernandino made a kick off. Ismael Tejedor's late challenge caught a Marcos AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ismael Tejedor helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Marcos AFC booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position.
