Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Mihnea Aldea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihnea Aldea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Franco in the 10th minute of play. Dumitru Achiriloaie's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 14 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Francisco Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mihnea Aldea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Thanks to some nice moves Dumitru Achiriloaie could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Joaquin Gayoso however easily saved by the left post. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Mihnea Aldea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. In the 20th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximiliano Escribano to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dumitru Achiriloaie got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Francisco Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihnea Aldea was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dumitru Achiriloaie in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Dumitru Achiriloaie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dumitru Achiriloaie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Mihnea Aldea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. 41 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dumitru Achiriloaie. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Maximiliano Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Bruno Beldad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dumitru Achiriloaie in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute Dumitru Achiriloaie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Botosani getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Mircea Cupșa hit a great ball. FC Botosani's Eduard Voina was substituted for Remus Zbora. After 84 played minutes FC Botosani got a freekick which was hit by Mircea Cupșa. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Mihnea Aldea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Botosani booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Homeag, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the game, FC Botosani's Victor Homeag nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Botosani fans cheered their team off the field, for while Uruguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
