When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Nelsinho Koehler sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 47 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Koehler came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Tomas Illescas made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. MAZER SAF's Adriano Carneiro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 57 minutes into the match, MAZER SAF's goalkeeper Adriano Carneiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. MAZER SAF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
