Dobromir Zagrodny was slow to take the kick. During this time Jovens Democratas MZC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Dobromir Zagrodny got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dalmo Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 37th minute of the match. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jovens Democratas MZC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xu Li Sang in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. In the 43rdth minute of the game Xu Li Sang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chico de Sousa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Dante Lacasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Li Sang, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dobromir Zagrodny was slow to take the kick. During this time Jovens Democratas MZC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Xu Li Sang almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. Jovens Democratas MZC's Lúcio Cruz was substituted for Durval de Queirós. The supporters of Mexico booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball.
