La Scaloneta's Lautaro Martinez got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 8th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lion Messi in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Lautaro Martinez tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Paulo Dybala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Paulo Dybala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 20 played minutes La Scaloneta got a freekick which was hit by Giovani Lo Celso. 23 minutes into the match, Lautaro Martinez notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leandro Paredes struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Scaloneta. After 27 minutes, Guillermo Mariano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the La Scaloneta players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 27th minute. Lautaro Martinez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Leandro Paredes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. If Leandro Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Scaloneta's goalie prevented a goal. In the 37thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 41 played minutes La Scaloneta got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Paredes. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Paredes in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Lion Messi came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Lautaro Martinez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Lautaro Martinez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Martinez in the 64th minute of play. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Enzo Fernández hit a great ball. La Scaloneta made a substitution. Julián Álvarez replaced Lion Messi. Dibag Martinez was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tomas Illescas. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Paulo Dybala kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Marcos Acuña hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. La Scaloneta had played much better football throughout.
