Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 15 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Babür Mertoğlu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Modroñes's Babür Mertoğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Babür Mertoğlu. Serbülent Tokuş could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ceferino Igon was slow to take the kick. During this time Modroñes's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Modroñes getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Ceferino Igon hit a great ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Babür Mertoğlu's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Babür Mertoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Babür Mertoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babür Mertoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Babür Mertoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Babür Mertoğlu in the 64th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babür Mertoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Enric Patiño took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 78 minutes of play, Modroñes's Babür Mertoğlu made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babür Mertoğlu in the 81st minute of play. After having played for 86 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Babür Mertoğlu notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Modroñes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Necip Fazıl Ekin didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Modroñes had played much better football throughout.
