Tomas Berganza took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 方诚剑. 方诚剑 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 17th minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 方诚剑 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when 刘竞真 got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 方诚剑 came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Tomas Berganza. But to his dismay, Tomas Berganza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 方诚剑 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isidoro Sarmiento went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. 35 minutes into the game, Alex Cambeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. 方诚剑 was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 41 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidoro Sarmiento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidoro Sarmiento scored 0-6 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 方诚剑, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
