Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Kent Ekerot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bergby BF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wasyl Lap having to interfere. Celsinho Capixaba might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celsinho Capixaba ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela were furious when Guillermo Mariano was red carded, 33 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! 37 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Capixaba came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgar Brask in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patricio Costa was the one to do the kick off. Edgar Brask sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kent Ekerot in the 52nd minute of play. When Edgar Brask came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Bergby BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Brask couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Capixaba came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Brask in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Edgar Brask managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bergby BF's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Brask was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Albano Hanni, made in the 61st minute of the game. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Kent Ekerot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Brask fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Celsinho Capixaba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bergby BF.
