Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Zäfär Güläliyev made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Los up up getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Adrianinho Thuram hit a great ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Los up up was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. The shot was a little too simple and Zäfär Güläliyev could save by the left post. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Rodas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zäfär Güläliyev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 69th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Los up up's Bren McPhil got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zäfär Güläliyev was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Los up up's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zäfär Güläliyev in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Cahya Tomagola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Los up up's David Rodas got a free kick in the 91st minute. Zäfär Güläliyev came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 96 minutes into the match, Los up up's goalkeeper Zäfär Güläliyev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
