They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Elite Azulgrana's Dionisio Ondino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Elite Azulgrana from getting a goal against them. After 81 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 85th minute, Elite Azulgrana's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 89th minute, Cristian Clementi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Loramendi in the 92nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
