It was a penalty for Ecuador! Julio Vera went to the wrong direction when Marciano Koldobika was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 35 minutes, Cristian Sancho made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Abel Neron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Koldobika. In the 45th match minute, Deportivo Balvanera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavio Pes to maneuver through the defense.

Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Milito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ecuador's Luis Andino in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Deportivo Balvanera's goalie prevented a goal. In the 93rd minute Diego Milito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marciano Koldobika hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
