MILLONARIOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christoffer Blomqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christoffer Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christoffer Blomqvist scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kevin Mastache might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angelo Prior. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kevin Mastache ran back to his position shaking his head. Colombia's Axel Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Santino Seco came free, but Angelo Prior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelo Prior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Christoffer Blomqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Rafael Jauregui made a great header on MILLONARIOS FC's corner, it was just that Colombia's Pedro Manzanares managed to reach the ball for a save. 36 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Santino Seco came free, but Angelo Prior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MILLONARIOS FC's Christoffer Blomqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christoffer Blomqvist got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee felt a red card was in order, 44 minutes into the game, when Antonio Indiano put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Colombia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MILLONARIOS FC:s goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christoffer Blomqvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Rafael Jauregui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Christoffer Blomqvist came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ignacio Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. MILLONARIOS FC made a substitution. Juan Corredor replaced Rafael Jauregui. Colombia's attentive Kevin Mastache managed to snatch the ball when Theo Hernández made a throw-in in the 77th minute of the game. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Angelo Prior, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 79th minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Prior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Kevin Mastache went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Colombia's Santino Seco to fire away a dangerous shot which Angelo Prior despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Colombia's Kevin Mastache managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Theo Hernández in the 85 minute of the game. In the 88th minute of the match, Kevin Mastache tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Angelo Prior saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 92ndth minute of the game Ignacio Mastache who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Colombia fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Colombia's Ignacio Mastache looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Christoffer Blomqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
