Yasin Saleh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Plaza Babys CF's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Abelardo Macías reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute Yasin Saleh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Yasin Saleh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Yasin Saleh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute of the match, Yasin Saleh tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 15th minute, Bernardino Aguilo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yasin Saleh got free with Julio Vera in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Yasin Saleh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Plaza Babys CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Yasin Saleh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abelardo Macías didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the match, Plaza Babys CF's Yasin Saleh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Macías saved Plaza Babys CF from getting behind. Abelardo Macías took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Yasin Saleh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Plaza Babys CF's Abelardo Macías played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play. In the 43rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Abelardo Macías took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Plaza Babys CF's Abelardo Macías proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Plaza Babys CF from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aparicio Ladra in the 58th minute of the match. With a little luck, Plaza Babys CF's Abelardo Macías got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Yasin Saleh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bo Kristiansson ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo Kristiansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 92nd minute, Bo Kristiansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Plaza Babys CF throughout the match.
