In the 10th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie de Nooijer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes, Agustín Saelices mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Vampiros Aztecas players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Vampiros Aztecas got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 武 曹操 ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Töpper in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freddie de Nooijer saved Vampiros Aztecas from getting behind. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Macedonio Fonticoba came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Vampiros Aztecas's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddie de Nooijer came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vampiros Aztecas's Freddie de Nooijer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. In the 35thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vampiros Aztecas's Freddie de Nooijer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Macedonio Fonticoba had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Macedonio Fonticoba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Vampiros Aztecas's Macedonio Fonticoba in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Verheydt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Verheydt, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. A collision led to Vampiros Aztecas getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Benicio Cedro hit a great ball. Macedonio Fonticoba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luis Andino's late challenge caught a Vampiros Aztecas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Andino helped the player get up and apologised. After 70 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Freddie de Nooijer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vampiros Aztecas's Thomas Verheydt in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. If Dé Töpper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Freddie de Nooijer made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolf Weyand in the 84th minute of the match. After 85 minutes, Ragnar Lodbrok mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vampiros Aztecas and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th match minute, Vampiros Aztecas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ragnar Lodbrok to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Vampiros Aztecas's Freddie de Nooijer got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line.
