Günalp Talip hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adalberto Nueva. Iron Maiden FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Arın Biçim took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Iron Maiden FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adalberto Nueva came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Günalp Talip stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Harris, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. The supporters of Iron Maiden FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dave Murray in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Adalberto Nueva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Günalp Talip's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 79th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Nueva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Adalberto Nueva made a huge save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Günalp Talip in the 87th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Clive Burr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
