Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 巩天帆, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by the sword of Damocles's 巩天帆. But to his dismay, 巩天帆 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 46th minute, Yavuz Selim Gulson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, 巩天帆 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If 巩天帆 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute.
