Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Ludomir Zacharek sent off a good shot on target. Ludomir Zacharek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. GKS Katowice's Dominik Brysz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Abel Carballo, made in the 12th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the game, Ludomir Zacharek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Costa Rica's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ludomir Zacharek 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. 28 minutes into the match, Ludomir Zacharek had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ludomir Zacharek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. When Eliseo Noboa fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Eliseo Noboa a yellow card for diving instead. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 47th minute of play forced GKS Katowice's goalkeeper Betão Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. GKS Katowice's Lucjan Werra was substituted for Ludomir Zacharek. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucjan Werra to make the kick off. Betão Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. Lucjan Werra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute of the match Efrain Moruga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Betão Pontes skillfully saved the ball. In the 64th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. Olgierd Cwojdak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 69th play minutes Cezary Kasiewski shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. Lucjan Werra might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucjan Werra ran back to his position shaking his head. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Betão Pontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Lucjan Werra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball.
