Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Vitaliy Eliseev started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 7th match minute, Спартак was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elizardo Corrales to maneuver through the defense. After 9 played minutes Спартак got a freekick which was hit by Elizardo Corrales. Aleksandr Sibirev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 11th minute of play. The supporters of Спартак booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aleksandr Sibirev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute, Vitaliy Eliseev made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 25th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitaliy Eliseev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Vitaliy Eliseev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksandr Sibirev having to interfere. If Vitaliy Eliseev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aleksandr Sibirev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Спартак's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Albert Schegodskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Eduard Breider kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Vitaliy Eliseev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vitaliy Eliseev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Schegodskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 63rd minute Vitaliy Eliseev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Aleksandr Sibirev came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 75th minute Albert Schegodskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aleksandr Sibirev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Спартак was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elizardo Corrales didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aleksandr Sibirev having to make a save. Aleksandr Sibirev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes had been played when some careless play by Спартак's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal.
