With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Niculae Ungureanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ödön Szily's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rolando Noboa firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Fraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 14th minute of play. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Elodio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, David Elodio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 18th minute David Elodio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ödön Szily showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 20 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Emmanuel Reyes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Emmanuel Reyes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andriy Lunin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Elodio in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. After 55 played minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a freekick which was hit by Toralf Hell. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, David Elodio managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but David Elodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Luz Tejedor quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Toralf Hell, made in the 65th minute of the game. In the 74th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Alvarado to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Elodio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Julian Murillo took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Andriy Lunin to make any attempt to save it. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Andriy Lunin came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Rafael Gallo. But to his dismay, Rafael Gallo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Rafael Gallo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Gallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andriy Lunin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
