Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Raul Leal got the match started through his kick off. Ivo Guterres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Leal in the 10th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abílio Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Abílio Passos sent off a good shot on target. Ivo Guterres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 21st minute of play. Ivo Guterres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Lautaro Mancebo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Guterres was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 26th minute, Vasco Brás got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 09's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Ivo Guterres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Ivo Guterres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Ivo Guterres threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 58 played minutes SC Freiburg 09 got a freekick which was hit by Mehmet Ferit İsmet. After 60 minutes SC Freiburg 09's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. SC Freiburg 09's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abílio Passos in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. The supporters of Mexico booed when SC Freiburg 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abílio Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
