Aírton Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Antônio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 minutes of play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Nestor Galvão made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Humberto Xavier was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Brasilino's Hílton da Silveira got a free kick in the 21st minute. Frank Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Antônio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Fiori Guimarães sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Brasilino's Humberto Xavier didn't even have to move. After 43 minutes of play Brasilino's Carlos Eduardo Maranhense was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elder Ramalho was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Murilo Pena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 53 minutes, Virgílio Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atl. Taquaritinga and the Brasilino players grew even worse after the yellow card. Taquaritinga's Humberto Xavier threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alberto Vale, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Vânderson De la Cruz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Humberto Xavier. That made the score 1-5 after 70 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hílton da Silveira in the 76th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Antônio Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Vânderson De la Cruz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Humberto Xavier, 1-6. Brasilino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hílton da Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlinhos Baiano took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Humberto Xavier. Humberto Xavier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-9. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
