Joel Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Smith having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Leopoldo Jacinto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frederico Smith was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Gustavo Reis fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube do Remo MZ's protests and gave Gustavo Reis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th match minute, Clube do Remo MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Reis to maneuver through the defense. After 14 played minutes Clube do Remo MZ got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Soeiro. Jeremias Lago took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Frederico Smith. Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Elói Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Mangueira in the 20th minute of play. Galo na Veia FC™'s Elói Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Vasconcelos in the 21st minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Edinho Vasconcelos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Elói Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th minute, Leopoldo Jacinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ismael Mandrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Elói Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Galo na Veia FC™'s Elói Medeiros got control of the ball when Edinho Vasconcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Jacinto in the 34th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Frederico Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 played minutes Clube do Remo MZ got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Mangueira. In the 40th minute of the match Alberto Negri shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frederico Smith showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Yuri Queiroz came free, but Frederico Smith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 minutes of play Clube do Remo MZ's Gustavo Reis was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Gustavo Reis hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.
Toninho de Mendonça hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. A hard shot 52 in the game by Leopoldo Jacinto from a close distance when the talented Frederico Smith managed to make a qualified save. Clube do Remo MZ's players were relieved. 61 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s Yuri Queiroz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frederico Smith narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elói Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edinho Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute, Hortêncio de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hortêncio de Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After 69 played minutes, Galo na Veia FC™'s Alberto Negri shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frederico Smith came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galo na Veia FC™ reached it. Elói Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Ismael Mandrak made a precise shot to the right of Elói Medeiros. Galo na Veia FC™'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Frederico Smith was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jeremias Lago. If Rodriguinho Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Clube do Remo MZ's zone, Leopoldo Jacinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederico Smith came out of the goal and Leopoldo Jacinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Frederico Smith managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Galo na Veia FC™'s Rodriguinho Cabral fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Galo na Veia FC™'s Elói Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vivaldo Soeiro in the 93rd minute of play. Galo na Veia FC™'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
