Alberto Negri took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Antônio Ferreira. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Galo na Veia FC™'s Elói Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vânderson De la Cruz in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Rafa Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vânderson De la Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. After 30 played minutes Clube Atl. Taquaritinga got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Brasil. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kiko Martins got free with Antônio Ferreira in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 33 minutes into the match, Kiko Martins notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Antônio Ferreira. Antônio Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 42 played minutes Clube Atl. Taquaritinga got a freekick which was hit by Vânderson De la Cruz. Antônio Ferreira was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Alberto Negri. Antônio Ferreira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nelson Valladares showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 47 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nestor Galvão made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Yuri Queiroz put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Antônio Ferreira. Kiko Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Carlinhos Baiano was substituted for Humberto Andrade. 64 minutes into the game, Aloísio Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galo na Veia FC™ the free kick. Joel Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Antônio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s goal looked a bit too open when Délio Coelho came free, but Elói Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Ricardinho Brasil reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elói Medeiros. The goal made the score 3-1. After 75 played minutes Galo na Veia FC™ got a freekick which was hit by Renato Pimenta. Elói Medeiros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Délio Coelho went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Wilton Rezende got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 89th minute Délio Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elói Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renato Pimenta in the 90th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Antônio Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Kiko Martins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antônio Ferreira. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kiko Martins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. In the 96th match minute, Galo na Veia FC™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lyanco Militão to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Galo na Veia FC™ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Clube Atl. Taquaritinga had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
